Why Cars?
LLTJ, a recent subscriber and commenter, once sent a comment along the lines that I was wasting my intellect writing about cars. I replied, “Thanks for the compliment?”
Yes, I am very interested in automotive history. I am interested in car performance specs. However—and it’s a big however—merely having an academic interest in something almost never induces tears of joy and awe like I experienced on Sunday upon seeing a 1966 Iso Grifo small block (pictured below).

To me, a beautiful car is rolling sculpture and represents freedom and joy. Yes, most people view automobiles as appliances to get from A to B. That viewpoint is their prerogative, but it is NOT their prerogative to force me to agree with them and to live according to their worldview.
Getting that off my chest…I thought I would show just a few more photos from Sunday.

If you can read the car card in the bottom photo you can see that the vehicle is a 1963 Apollo 3500 GT. These cars were produced from 1962 to 1964. How many were built? Just 88…that’s why I have come to prefer attending events like this to watching car auctions. Again, I am weary of the endless parade of Corvettes, Mustangs, other 1960s/1970s muscle cars and pickup trucks.
Oh, Everyday Driver reviewed the convertible version of the Maserati MC20 here as well as a Shelby Daytona Coupe replica here. Those two cars are shown in the photo just above the Apollo.
